I really dislike flies!
I suppose no-one does really, unless you’re the Frog-Prince.
Lately there’s been a Fly-Invasion in my kitchen. I can’t seem to do anything without having to wave them away. For creatures that small, they really have thick skins! I’ve tried burning citronella candles, but they don’t seem to be effective over a very large range, and flypapers…well, I only use them out of desperation…when nothing else works… I hate having this ‘fly-cemetery’ hanging above me when I work.
But last week I discovered this really nifty gadget at the grocery store! Now I’m not one for gadgets – I like to look at them and admire them, and then I usually decide that they cost too much, and something else does the job just as well… But this time I just HAD to have this. (The fact that I had Daniel with me at them time probably helped too!!)
It’s a Zapp-Em Dead Fly Zapper!!
It looks like a tennis racquet, but the ‘strings’ are
electrified! It uses 2 AA batteries, and works pretty well. If it doesn’t kill the fly, it stuns it long enough for you to finish it off! HAHAHA! *Evil chuckle!*
The kids have had great fun chasing flies all over. I must admit it’s so satisfying to hear the ‘click’ when you get one!
I decided to buy one for my father – his hobby is getting rid of flies – and he was quite chuffed with it too. He keeps it next to his bed at night, and if a mosquito comes whining around his head, he just grabs it and waves it wildly around! I just hope he’s not too sleepy when he uses it, and forgets it’s electrified!! ;-))

Oooo, I love the blue in your kitchen :0)
ReplyDeleteAnd my boys would love that gadget! Fortunately, the flies aren't so bad here.
