FOR TODAY... February 8, 2010
Outside my window... Sunny and HOT! Small clouds are starting to gather, and hopefully there’ll be some rain this evening. I really hope so… this heat is unbearable.
I am thinking... of how the Lord has answered prayer!
I am thankful... that the Lord has spared my father until now – yesterday was his 65th birthday.
I am wearing... Long denim skirt (my favourite one), yellow shirt and navy flats.
I am remembering... my promise to Ben and Keren that I would do a craft project with them this afternoon.
I am going... to round up the kids and seriously attack the school room! It needs tidying!
I am currently reading... bits and pieces here and there, nothing big. (I have just received a Charlotte Mason book that I ordered and will start reading it soon!)
I am hoping... that the family won’t fall prey to the cold/flu virus this February like they usually do.
I am hearing ... Eden practicing her cello.
On my mind... A hundred and one things I need to remember, but will probably forget!
From the learning rooms... Still doing Rome. I also bought a book which I'll be starting called Words From the Vine which studies the Greek and Latin roots of words in a fun way. I’m starting a co-op with another mom on Friday and we’ll be doing some activities on sound and hearing.
Noticing that... Jordan is starting to make different sounds – instead of just consonants like ma-ma and ba-ba, he’s combining them like dees, ba-gee. Cute!
Pondering these words... “I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, Lord, only makest me dwell in safety.” Psalm 4:8 (Living here in South Africa these are Words to cling to!)
From the kitchen... Mince Mate for supper – I feel so lazy today (it must be the heat!)
Around the house... Three of the children are asleep, and two are reading. I also seriously need to find a way to deal with the paperwork in this house. Everything I’ve tried up to now just doesn’t work for us…
One of my favorite things… Bathing my children when they’re dirty. I love clean, pink, sweet-smelling kids!
Plans for the rest of the week… The usual lessons; Co-op on Friday, a birthday party on Saturday (Eden’s friend), and oh… most importantly… a VERY DEAR friend who emigrated to Australia 7 years ago is back for a holiday, and will be visiting us on Wednesday – I can’t wait to see her!!!
From my picture journal... Jordan playing peek-a-boo with me in the car:
