I've just set up a blog for use by the children. In our home, time on the computer is earned, and therefore not unlimited. My children are quite particular about how they use their computer time, and they all decided that having a blog to themselves would use up too much of it. (Mom doesn't have to earn her time - but they all make very sure that it's limited!!) So the idea of a shared blog went down much better. It's there for them to share things with friends and family far away (and near), as well as an extended learning area (for writing etc). Hopefully they'll also be able to make connections with other children and teenagers who blog around the world.

Great idea! I have been toying with the idea of allowing my oldest - she's 10 - to have a blog of her own, just to encourage her creative writing and her typing skills.
