I have hardly posted anything these last two weeks. This is because I have been so incredibly busy! In addition to the usual music lessons for everybody each week (which keeps me busy enough), I have had so many other appointments and engagements that by this last Sunday evening I felt stressed to the point of a total meltdown! I just seemed to have had no time to myself (not that I get that much anyway), and not even time for household chores. Schoolwork has been almost non-existent! This week has promised to be a bit better and I have booked the weekend for just US! With the exception of church, I don’t want to go anywhere.
Our optometric appointments last week resulted in Eden and I getting new glasses, and Ben went this week too. Malcolm has noticed that Ben struggles to see the kill-zone at archery competitions, and it turns out he’s short-sighted, and will need glasses too. He’s not all that happy about this, although he won’t have to wear them all the time.
Today was our first day in two weeks that I had nothing on at all, and was planning to do LOTS of learning work (especially on Rome!) and guess what? I woke up with a migraine!! So I only surfaced at about 2pm this afternoon, and even then felt like something the dog threw up! We managed to get a little work done after that, but really – I need some more sleep…
This year’s hurtling past at such a rate! Next week Friday it’ll be the end of the first term. Already!! On Saturday Youth Camp starts for Eden and Nathan for 3 nights, and Daniel and Ben will be spending that time with my parents. I’m looking forward to a few days with just the two youngest, but I know that by the time camp ends I’ll be missing all the others!!
Easter weekend will be busy but blessed – with 5 services in all. There will be a preacher from New Zealand and we’re really looking forward to it! The Monday after that (which is a public holiday) Eden’s orchestra camp starts. It’s called a camp, but they don’t sleep there, just go in every day. It runs until Saturday, when the parents are invited to hear them play. The formal concerts are only in May. Two are out of town, and the Big One is at UNISA at the end of May. It’s a fantastic event, last year’s was absolutely brilliant, and we can’t wait for this one! More about the orchestra later…
So despite it being holidays – I think I’ll still be relatively busy – sigh – but, hey – that’s what being a mom is all about, isn’t it???
Ouch - cringing at the thought of your migraine :-(
ReplyDeleteLove to hear about orchestra tho' =)
Hope you are feeling better and are able to get some rest. It's amazing what that can do for your perspective. Have a great rest of the week!
ReplyDeleteOh, I'm praying that you are feeling better! Being a migraine sufferer myself, you have my sympathy. HOpe things start slowing down soon!!!
ReplyDeleteWell I know that this was posted the 17th and today is the 19th ~ but I said a prayer for you and I hope that you are not hurting another more - migraines are the worse. I hope that you have a wonderful weekend! Blessings, EMichelle
