FOR TODAY... May 18, 2010
Outside my window... Pitch black night.
I am thinking... of tomorrow – it’s Malcolm’s birthday!
I am thankful... for my husband’s life and love. He’s my best friend, my other half!
I am wearing... Denim skirt with buttons, green shirt.
I am remembering... when I first met Malcolm (I was only 16!)
I am going... to make him a Black Forest Gateau – shhh… don’t tell!
I am currently reading... Still reading Samuel with the kids.
I am hoping... that Eden’s concert goes well this weekend.
I am hearing ... the dishwasher, Jordan protesting at having to go to bed, Daniel and Nathan playing in their room.
From the learning rooms… Last minute crafts of Ancient Rome, lots of language and maths, new unit studies with lapbooks, new technology book.
Noticing that... I haven’t done any real blogging for a while now… been too busy!
From the kitchen… Supper tonight was Malaysian Chicken Satay (which turned out too spicy for the younger ones.. oops!), tomorrow I plan to make a roast of some sort for Malcolm with all the trimmings.
Around the house... The garden is looking even worse as the gardener never pitched on the weekend, I’ll have to get the kids together and do some hard work there. My schoolroom is nice and tidy for a change, and my cupboards in the bedroom are looking tidy and a lot less cluttered after my mad decluttering spree last week. (It’s actually such a good feeling!)
One of my favorite things… The colour of the sky in winter – it’s such a clear, sharp blue – my favourite colour!
Plans for the rest of the week… The usual lessons, I’m taking Eden (and myself) clothes shopping tomorrow, this Friday she is going to Thabazimbi with the orchestra for a concert – they sleep in a school hostel for Friday night, and return after the concert on Saturday night (late!) With tomorrow being Malcolm’s birthday we’ll probably see family over the weekend, and Friday is a homeschool group meeting.
From my picture journal… a little group of banded mongoose that came round our campsite last weekend:

The Simple Woman's Daybook is hosted each Tuesday by Peggy.
I've seen many great photos today, but this is my favorite!
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed the picture. We definitely don't see mongoose bands when we go camping:)
ReplyDeleteBlogging is good, but decluttering is better ~ way to spend your time well!
ReplyDeleteHappy Birthday to Malcom ~ may you all have a great week!
Enjoy the birthday celebration. I so enjoy your blog it feels as I am learning, I have never seen a mongoose.
