FOR TODAY... May 25, 2010Outside my window... It’s after 9 pm and very dark outside.
I am thinking... that it’s too late to get an early night! ;-)
I am thankful... that everything went well with this last weekend’s orchestra concert, and that they all returned safely (it was an away-concert)
I am wearing... Brown shoes, brown corduroy skirt and a pullover in autumn colours.
I am remembering... not much at this moment…
I am going... to take a bath soon, and I have a book I want to read while soaking!
I am currently reading... Still reading Samuel with the kids, and The Uncertain Sound.
I am hoping... to get the two elder boys some clothes to wear to this weekend’s big concert.
I am hearing ... the dishwasher, Eden and Daniel ‘arguing’ (actually teasing each other), and the sounds of people going to bed.
From the learning rooms… Lots of the 3 R’s, the Big 5, bears, Introducing Technology.
Noticing that... Although we’ve had a few cold days, true winter seems to be arriving later than it has for the last two years.
Pondering these words...
"This is the beginning of a new day. You have been
given this day to use as you will. You can waste it or
use it for good. What you do today is important because
you are exchanging a day of your life for it. When
tomorrow comes, this day will be gone forever; in its
...place is something that you have left behind... let it
be something good."

From the kitchen… Supper was a fish bake with rice and lots of veggies, tomorrow we’ll have cottage pie.
Around the house... We can actually see the paving again after raking up all the leaves!! ;-)
One of my favorite things… Listening to my children talking and laughing together – I really hope and pray that they will remain close all their lives.
Plans for the rest of the week… The usual lessons, clothes shopping (again!) tomorrow, Saturday is the big, final concert of Eden’s orchestra and we’re all looking forward to it.
From my picture journal… Jordan trying to get UP the slide:

The Simple Woman's Daybook is hosted each Tuesday by Peggy.
Good quote, Felicity ~ reminds me not to sit here too long ;-)
ReplyDeleteOh, I know about clothes shopping! Wish these kids would stop growing ;) Have a great week!
ReplyDeleteI love the words you're pondering....hmmmm makes me stop and think ~ and want to get off the computer! wink!! I'm wondering what's the Big 5? Is it the 5 Ws? We have the Big 6 ~ who, what, when, where, why & how. Thanks for your kind words on my blog ~ I'm excited about Homeschooling Duke in Highschool and Duke is excited for next year too! Today we put all his studies for next year on paper and we are both very pleased!!! Have a wonderful day ~ EMichelle
ReplyDeleteThe Big 5 are the lion, leopard, elephant, rhino and buffalo. Daniel loves animals and that was his choice for a study unit. ;-))
ReplyDeleteGreat Unit study...delight directed. I also love your words to ponder. I have never heard that before, but I will write it down because I do not want to forget it. Today really is a gift. Went to a memorial service for a young man who leaves behind a wife, 5 year old son, 2 year old daughter and a baby due any minute. He did not survive an accident and I am reminded how our life is but a vapor. Thanks for sharing your daybook and encouragement through your space here.
