It was only Day 2 of our NEW! homeschool journey with our NEW! curriculum, and the wheels were threatening to come off! (And, I'm sure, a few of my screws were threatening to come undone too..)
Factors that got the Not-So-Good Day started:
- We woke up rather late (..and I did go to bed early!).
- The house was a mess after a 3-day weekend (yesterday was a public holiday, but I'll post on that later).
- I was, again, not properly prepared for all of today's work.
- The kids were slow at getting up as well.
- Children that forgot how to spell most words.
- Children that suddenly didn't know how to do certain things, like looking up information.
- Little tots that spent most of the day moaning for 'botties' (bottles), especially while I was trying to read aloud.
- Bottles that hid themselves away so that it took me ages to find one, fill it and hand it to the moaning tot.
- Cats that threw up on carpets.
- My brain that felt unhinged and unable to process much!
- Mount Washmore that just didn't seem to get any smaller.
And so, as we say here: more is nog 'n dag (tomorrow is another day!)
I have cleaned the kitchen floor, done about 3 load of washing ready to hang up first thing tomorrow, and I'm off to bed (after my tea...). I'll deal with everything else in the morning!

Sorry about the bad day. Some days are like that. Here's hoping tomorrow will be a better day.
ReplyDeleteI take my hat off to you, Felicity! You have so much energy and courage ... tomorrow will definately be a better day.
