This Blog Hop's question is:
I so rarely get time for myself that I don't 'get into' very much. Reading is my all-time favourite way of relaxing though. I enjoy biographies and autobiographies, as well as stories about real people (Torey Hayden is one of my favourites). Most of the time I land up reading the kids' books though, but I find it relaxing - I don't have to think much, just enjoy the story!
I started scrapbooking with my mother about two years ago, and it's something I've come to enjoy tremendously. Often when 'the guys' all go off for an archery competition I take the girls (and Jordan) and myself off to my mom's for the day. It's a nice time spent with my mom, and I get to create some nice pages for my scrapbook!
Blogging has become a big favourite of mine! Although I don't get to post as much as I'd like to, I enjoy reading what others have written on their blogs. I usually sit at the computer early in the morning before the children are awake. I enjoy the peace and quiet
The thing I love most to do for myself, however, is to play my viola. Sadly, at the moment it's not something I get to do often. I was an adult beginner and got to about grade 5 level, when I stopped lessons to have Jordan. Since then I've been just too busy!! If I'm going to play I like to play uninterrupted for at least an hour, and at this point in time it's just not possible! As Jordan gets bigger though, I see more 'time for me' emerging, and I will soon be able to find that hour alone to play beautiful music!!
LOve to get away with a book =)
ReplyDeleteMiss Artist has played the viola here ~ not as advanced as you! She hopes to pick it up again this fall with DVD lessons from Jaffe Strings (A Beka Book) ~ Interesting to see how that works out! Our violin/viola Teacher-in-Real-Life may be moving since her dh's plant is closing ~ my girls are regretting the lack of lessons lately :-( Miss Music Box would relate to the need for a full hour for practice (and thus, the lack of practice...)
;-)
Ienjoy the kids books from time to time too.
ReplyDeleteIhave tried to add your link manually but I can't see how, sorry. Maybe try again is about all I can offer. :-)
Wow, Felicity! Didn't know you played the Viola ... very impressive.
