The Simple Woman's Daybook #4

FOR TODAY... 4 January 2010

Outside my window... Rain! Lovely Rain! After the heat of the past few days, rain is so welcome!
I am thinking... of my husband who is going back to work after being on holiday for 2 weeks. I am going to miss him, and I hope he has a good day!
I am thankful for... full-time domestic help! I wouldn’t survive without it. I still haven’t cleared the laundry overload after the holiday…
I am wearing... navy skirt, yellow t-shirt and crocs
I am remembering... when Eden and Nathan were little. I wonder how I coped alone then?
I am going... to have the take back our library books! I can’t remember when they were due… I have this idea that I have a BIG fine to pay! Oops!
I am currently reading... The book of John.
I am hoping... that this rain will go on for a few days at least. I can’t take the excessive heat.
I am hearing ... the rain on the roof. The household is still asleep.
On my mind... Plans for this year.
From the learning rooms... Last week of holidays! I will be planning our work for the first month or so this week. I need to plan for Keren this year as well, mainly to keep her busy and occupied – otherwise she bothers the others.
Noticing that... the kids are getting bored and restless. We need to start some ‘work’.
Pondering these words... “Pleasant words are as an honey-comb, sweet to the soul, and health to the bones.” Prov 16:24
From the kitchen... breakfast! We have started a healthy eating plan. I need to go and dig out some of those recipes…
Around the house... silence…(and I need to tidy up..)
One of my favorite things… Doing the laundry. A bit weird, I know, but I love taking dirty, smelly clothes and putting them into the washing machine, and pulling out clean, nice-smelling clothes! I hate ironing though!
Plans for the rest of the week… Getting the children into a routine for next week, planning lessons, getting all music lessons and their times sorted out, phoning around for a trumpet teacher for Nathan, setting up chore charts, attempting to set each child’s individual schedule
From my picture journal...

  1. I rarely go to the library when I don't have a fine! As a matter of fact, I realized last night that I forgot to take back Oliver Twist last week. Oh well, I just think of it as my way of supporting the library system!

I hope y'all enjoy your last week off!

  2. I loved the picture - all that green grass. How I miss it so :) I need to get to the library myself. I'm hoping I don't have to pay a fine, but I think I might. I hate that. Have a good week. I enjoyed your daybook.

  3. Wow, the GREEN in your picture really stuck out! Your daughter is beautiful, too. I love the rainbow headband; my six year old girl has one of those. It suits her personality.

The green stuck out because it is all white here (Nebraska, USA). The trees have lost their leaves and the grass is covered with snow up to our knees. It is very cold and I would welcome a day with a bit of heat and definitely rain (I love rain).

Thanks for sharing your Daybook! :)

  4. You have a beautiful family. I know you must stay very busy, but do enjoy the days and be present in the moment because they do, in fact, grow up so quickly. I enjoyed reading your daybook. I think of all the books I've been able to enjoy from the library, so when I do have a fine I see it as an opportunity to give back (turns a negative into a positive). Have a great week.
