FOR TODAY... February 2, 2012
Outside my window... I’m parked outside Eden’s ensemble practice. The sun is almost down, and although there are clouds they’re not rain clouds... It is SO HOT!! Rain would be very welcome!
I am hearing... The sounds of Eine Kleine Lachmusiek. The group sounds better than last year, but I think one or two of the players are missing – the sound is a bit thin...
Today I... Didn’t do enough school...! Should have done far more, but anyway... I took Nathan to music, returned some super-late library books, took Ben and Eden to music, fetched a workbook I had copied, fetched kids, went home, started supper and then came here.
Counting my Blessings... Kids who help, a husband who provides well for us and the opportunities that the kids have to learn something as beautiful as music.
I am praying for... A friend who recently had a mastectomy.
Something I’d like to remember from now... Keren asking me yesterday: “Will you learn to knit when you grow up into an old lady??”
I am wearing... Denim skirt and purple striped shirt.
Noticing... I caught a feeling of autumn today – maybe a change in the sun’s angle??
I am currently reading... The Bible, and Young Fu of the Upper Yangtse with Daniel and Ben.
From the learning rooms… Russia, How various medicines work, the letter H (review), and Ben is started Defeating Division.
From the kitchen… Spaghetti Bolognaise. (I will have to bake banana bread tomorrow – I have far too many overripe bananas in the kitchen)
Around the house... We’re having new carpets put in tomorrow!!! Yeah!! After 7 years in this house we can finally say goodbye to the hideous carpets we have had to put up with!!!
One of my favourite things… New carpets?
Plans for the rest of the week… Daniel and Ben have music tomorrow and there’s Youth in the evening. There’s an archery competition for the boys on Saturday, and a birthday party in the afternoon. Sunday is church with communion in the evening.
From my picture journal… Eden with the trophy her ensemble group won at last year's Eisteddfod.
