FOR TODAY... August 3, 2010
Outside my window... It’s dark outside, and pretty chilly too. It’s been predicted that the temperature will fall quite low (for us!) overnight due to the clear skies, but it will be fine and mild tomorrow.
I am thinking... about the weather of the last few weeks. It’s supposed to be mid-winter, but the temperature has been in the low 20’s (Celsius). Yesterday was 24! More like an early spring. I wonder if more cold weather will arrive or if it’ll just go straight into summer?
I am thankful for… the opportunities we can offer our children.
I am wearing... brown corduroy skirt and cream jersey.
I am remembering... A trip to the zoo with a friend who has emigrated. It turned out to be the coldest day of the year – but we had a good time anyway!
I am going... to soak in a nice hot bath as soon as I’m done.
I am currently reading... Nothing at the moment.
I am hoping... that tomorrow will be a good day.
I am hearing ... Malcolm yawning while he’s working, other than that – silence ;-)
From the learning rooms… Language and Maths, individual lapbooks.
Noticing that...My Clivias are getting ready to flower - a sign that spring is on its way!
From the kitchen… We had pasta salad, crumbed fish, green beans and tomato and cucumber salad. Tomorrow will be rice and chicken with veggies.
Around the house... The bathroom is done!! YEAH!! I’ll post photos soon. There’s a lot of cleaning to be done on the grouting, but we’re using it! There’s still rubble to be removed outside (frustrating!!), but I’m so glad to have my house in order again.
One of my favorite things… Lots of salads (that someone else has made.)

Plans for the rest of the week… It’s Eisteddfod time again! Nathan got an A+ for his Baroque piece on Monday and he’s playing in the Classical category on Thursday. Eden has two ensemble pieces on Saturday. We’re going to the zoo tomorrow, and will have my parents over for tea on Friday afternoon. And we’ll be trying to get some learning done in between.

ReplyDeleteI have come for a visit from Peggy's at Simple Woman's Daybook. We too, have been lured by the warmer winter days, only to plunge into some very cold and windy days again. It seems one day is very different from the next at our place at the moment - enjoying the outdoors on the warmer days, to snuggling up inside with our books and arts and crafts in the colder days.
